Choral |
I've been singing with University of Warwick Chorus , since 1990 With them I've taken part in Requiems by Verdi, Berlioz, Mozart & Faure, Concert performances of Eugene Onegin & Carmen, Tippet's 'A Child of Our Time', Beethoven's Choral Symphony (9th), Mahler's 8th (Symphony of a Thousand), Walton's 'Belshazars Feast', Bernstein's 'Chichester Psalms', plus many other pieces by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven etc. With a Community Theatre Group run by the late Keith Taylor I was introduced to Sondheim and apperaed in his 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' and 'The Frogs'. Keith wrote a musical version of Bunyan's "A Pilgrims Progress" in which I played 6 roles including a 'gate'! After being diagnoseed with Kidney Cancer, Keith set about persuading Cameron Mackintosh to allow the only (to date) amateur production of Les Misérables which had three performances in September 2002 in aid of Kidney Cancer UK. In the 6 years to 2013 I was involved with Coventry Savoy Opera Society taking minor roles in "The Gondoliers", "HMS Pinafore", "Patience", Pish Tush in "The Mikado" completeing my time with them as Samuel in "The Pirates of Penzance" I now also sing with Spires Music and Hampton Singers. |
